  • SONG: This week’s dance break song is Could Have Been Star Dust by Sam Shore and Matt Bloyd

  • DANCE STYLE SUGGESTIONS: Our first choices for this song would be West Coast Swing and Rumba. But remember, there’s no dance police here, so any form of dancing you know (even if it’s the hug-and-sway we all did at prom) is the best choice :)

Have you noticed the trend?

Over the past couple years, we've seen more couples dancing than ever before.

From tv shows like dancing with the stars, to social media sites like Tik Tok and Instagram.

And one thing's for sure, couples have gotten creative.

Not only in the way they dance, but where they dance.

No place has been off limits, and it's been so much fun to watch.

But the most popular place has been from the comfort of their home.

If you and your spouse enjoy dancing, or if you enjoy watching others dance and want to experience it for yourselves, you've got everything you need...yes, even if you've never danced before.

In today's episode, I'm sharing my, and my husband's, favorite spot to dance in our home so you can get some ideas of where to have fun dancing in yours.

Can you guess where it is?

You're about to find out!

Where To Dance With Your Spouse From Home

One of the best things about dancing as a couple is that you can do it just about anywhere.

And since we're spending more time at home these days, that's where we'll focus our attention.

My husband, Rich, and I have danced in nearly every spot in our home over the years.

And I will tell ya that some of those spots have worked out better than others, but we definitely have a favorite spot.

To give you an idea, the lower level of our home is a dance studio, and this certain spot I'm going to share is still our favorite, hands down.

It's also where we practiced when we first started dancing.

But we'll save that for the end.

Let's start with one of the most popular spots to cut a rug in your home, and that's…

Dancing With Your Spouse In The Living Room.

This is probably somewhere you've already danced, right?

When Rich and I are finished watching a movie and the music starts playing as the credits roll, we like taking advantage of the moment.

It's our queue to hop off the couch, move to the music, and find out which songs are our favorites to dance to.

You never know what song is coming next, so it feels like you have a private dj playing music for you right there in your living room.

So the next time a good soundtrack plays at the end of a movie you're watching, grab your spouse and be sure to seize the moment.

Alright, the next spot I'm about to share might be one you've never thought of before.  And that's...

Dancing With Your Spouse In The Bedroom.

Now, you might be thinking there isn't enough room to dance in your bedroom, and for most dance styles that's probably true.

But if we're talking about casual, low-key dancing, like the hug-and-sway we all did at prom, it's more than enough room.

This is a good spot to dance if you're looking for a fun way to ease into your day and connect with your spouse before things get busy.

And it's also a good spot to dance if you're looking for a way to unwind and reconnect as a couple at the end of the night.

By the way, if there's any parents listening, this is a great habit for you and your spouse to get into, to give you some quality one-on-one time alone, after you put the kids to bed.

It's probably not the first spot that came to your mind, but it's definitely one to try out.

And that leads us to our favorite spot.

And that's...

Dancing With Your Spouse In The Kitchen

This one brings back such great memories for us.

It's where we practiced when we first started dancing, and it's even where we prepared for our very first dance competition.

But most importantly, it's where we still have fun dancing today.

This is our favorite spot to dance in our home because...

  • It's a big enough space to move around

  • It has a smooth floor to spin on, and...

  • It's convenient, because we can throw dinner in the oven and dance while we wait for it to be done.

So the next time you and your spouse are looking for something to do together while dinner's in the oven, play your favorite tunes and have fun dancing in your kitchen until it's time to eat.

Now…

Where Is Your Favorite Spot In Your Home To Dance With Your Spouse?

Is it…

  • Dancing in the living room while the music plays at the end of a movie?

  • Dancing in your bedroom to ease into the day with your spouse, or reconnect at the end of the night?

  • Or, is it having fun dancing in the kitchen while dinner's in the oven?

We would love to know!

You don't need to be a dancer, you just have to love music and being in the arms of the one you love.

These dance breaks will help the two of you tune out the chaos in life, tune into the love of your life and strengthen your relationship the fun way.
